A non-accredited awareness course on the handling of Oxygen and Fuel Gas Systems.
Course Content
The course includes detailed explanation of hazards associated with compressed gases including oxygen, acetylene and LPG, review of safety devices including flashback arrestors and information on compliance requirements detailed in Australian Standard 4839-2001 – The safe use of portable and mobile oxy-fuel gas systems for welding, cutting, heating and allied processes.
Following the theory component, a practical component is delivered in the client’s workshop utilising current work practices that employees undertake at present.
On successful completion of this course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge:
– To identify unsafe work practices
– To identify faulty equipment
– To use the correct equipment for the process involved
– Observe the Australian Standard guidelines
– To report all incidents and faults to the designated person
Course Outcomes
Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance
