- Practical demonstration of various welding techniques

- Practice time to ensure techniques reach an acceptable level

- Dispelling common myths and unsafe work practices

- Demonstrating the functional characteristics of the equipment and their operating capacity



- To identify the level of competence of each person to remove complacency and apathy and concern in relation to the inherent risks associated with the equipment

- To achieve an awareness and respect for the use of such equipment

- To complete welding processes in the safest manner possible 

- To improve the ability of the participants and improve their effectiveness in the workplace


- To identify unsafe work practices

- To identify faulty equipment

- To select the correct consumable for the process required

- To identify the correct machine settings and problem solving solutions

- To improve the individual technique and ability of each participant

- Observe the Australian Standard guidelines

- To report all incidents and faults to the designated person
